Preserve the original content first, then identify whether the recording, recognition, or paste stage failed.

- In macOS System Settings, allow SayHere to use the microphone and any prompted Accessibility or Input Monitoring permissions.
- Near the intended text field, hold Fn (or your configured shortcut), speak, and release when finished.
- After the “Copied” confirmation appears, press ⌘V in the intended field.
Recording does not start
- Confirm SayHere is running and its menu-bar control opens.
- Check Microphone, Accessibility, and Input Monitoring permissions. After changing a permission, quit SayHere completely and reopen it.
- Confirm the current shortcut is not reserved by macOS or another app.
Recognition is incomplete or returns nothing
Do not immediately record again. Open History and Recording Protection to see whether SayHere kept the original recording, recoverable text, or a failure explanation. This helps distinguish truncated capture, missing recognition, and an incomplete copy or paste.
When reporting the problem, include approximate recording length, spoken language, selected engine, and whether a “Copied” confirmation appeared. Do not upload a private recording unless you knowingly choose to make that content public.
Text did not appear in the target app
SayHere copies the transcript to the clipboard first; it does not type on your behalf by default. Return to the correct field and press ⌘V. If the full text is present on the clipboard, recording and recognition succeeded and the problem occurred during the final paste.
Local data and deletion
Recordings, transcript history, custom vocabulary, and protected recordings stay on your Mac. You can delete them in the app. See the Privacy Policy for processing boundaries and system-service details.
Submit a support request
In your email, include the macOS and SayHere versions, spoken language and engine, approximate recording length, and whether a “Copied” confirmation appeared. Remove names, account details, private recordings, and full transcripts. If an example is necessary, replace it with non-sensitive reproduction content.
