Privacy Policy

This policy explains how SayHere handles recordings, transcripts, the clipboard, history, and recording-protection data on macOS.

Last updated: August 31, 2026

In short: SayHere requires no account and operates no server that receives your recordings, transcripts, history, or custom vocabulary.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the SayHere macOS app distributed through the Mac App Store and to the privacy and support pages on this website. SayHere is a voice-input utility, not a cloud transcription service.

2. Content processed by SayHere

  • Microphone audio: captured and processed on your device only after you start a recording.
  • Transcripts and history: recognition results may be stored in local history so you can review, copy, or delete them.
  • Custom vocabulary and settings: stored on your Mac to support your local experience.
  • Recording-protection data: when recognition fails or is interrupted, the app can keep the original recording and recovery clues locally so the content remains recoverable.
  • Clipboard: the app writes final text to the system clipboard. A target app receives it only when you paste there.

3. What we do not collect

SayHere requires no account, contains no advertising, performs no cross-app tracking, and does not upload recordings, transcripts, history, custom vocabulary, or protected recordings to a SayHere-controlled server. The current version contains no analytics or telemetry service operated by SayHere.

4. System permissions and Apple services

The app needs microphone access to record and may request Accessibility or Input Monitoring permission to respond to your configured global shortcut. You can revoke these permissions in macOS System Settings.

SayHere is distributed through Apple’s App Store and uses system frameworks provided by macOS. If you choose to share diagnostics with Apple, Apple may process crash or diagnostic information under its own policies; the SayHere website does not collect that data.

5. Retention, deletion, and backups

You control local history, protected recordings, and settings. You can delete history or protected recordings in the app, or remove the app and its local container to clear app data. If system backups are enabled, local data may remain in a backup according to your macOS and backup settings.

6. Sharing and sale

SayHere does not sell personal information and does not share recordings or transcripts with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketing platforms. After you paste text into another app, that app’s privacy policy governs its subsequent processing.

7. Children’s privacy

SayHere is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app.

8. Changes to this policy

If the product’s data handling changes materially, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date. Changes that materially affect the privacy boundary will also receive an appropriate notice in release notes or in the app.

9. Contact

For privacy, deletion, or data-handling questions, email uio.design.stu@gmail.com or visit SayHere Support. Do not attach recordings or full transcripts containing private content.
